Day By Day - Habukkuk 3
By Anne Horsburgh
This chapter is one of my favourites. We have come from complaint to confidence.
Habakkuk records the glory of God in past history and in the future. He has a faith that is invincible. No matter what God brings to pass. No matter what happens, Habakkuk trusts in God’s salvation. If all God’s gifts failed he would still possess the Giver.
Habakkuk, through his dialogue with God has learnt more about how great God is and that he can trust in this wonderful God.
Verses 17-18 are a prayer as well as verses of praise.
It is my prayer that I will keep on praising and trusting God when everything is gone. I pray I can keep on walking in faith.
Isaiah 61:10 says:
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness. As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”
What do I gain from this Chapter?
1. Have faith in God.
2. God is moving in awesome majesty.
3. The joy of the Lord is not dependent on physical bounty.
Remember…
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.” – Hebrews 13:8
